Why choose us?

Holy Spirit Catholic College Lakemba is a dynamic faith community preparing young adults for the challenges of the modern world. Our goal is to ensure that every student is equipped with the skills and knowledge for a life beyond school with our fully comprehensive and tailored approach to education.  All members of the community strive for excellence as we develop each person holistically.

Nurturing the strengths and uniqueness of each student’s learning ability through the lens of the Holy Spirit Learning and Wellbeing Framework is a vital step towards a successful future.

Principal’s Message

Welcome to Holy Spirit Catholic College, an inclusive faith community located in South-West Sydney’s suburb of Lakemba. Everyone at the college is inspired by the Holy Spirit to work towards creating a future based on respect for self and the dignity of others.

No matter the circumstances, students at Holy Spirit will be encouraged to achieve to the best of their ability using the gifts which they have been given by God.

We embrace differences in academic ability by offering those who are academically gifted or highly capable access to the Newman Selective Gifted Education Program and we look after students with learning difficulties or disabilities with the support of our exceptional Diverse Learning Needs department.

Our college strives to create opportunities in which all experience success and achieve their potential, whether it be through showcasing their gifts and talents in the creative and performing arts, our strong sporting tradition or in areas such as vocational education or public speaking.

What we wish for our students by the end of their time here, is that they are empowered by the teachings and knowledge they have accrued, through personalised learning and dynamic teaching, to foster inclusivity and respect in the community in their own way.

My hope is that this website will offer you a glimpse of our community at Holy Spirit, that you may get a sense of all that is on offer at the college. The best way, however, to understand our faith community is to visit and experience it for yourself so as to get a sense of the active prayer and liturgical life, the curriculum offerings and the many co-curricular opportunities. If you would like to meet me and experience all that Holy Spirit has to offer please feel free to call the college office and arrange an appointment.

Yours sincerely,

Phillip Scollard
Principal

Holy Spirit Catholic College Lakemba Principals Message

History
History

Holy Spirit Catholic College is a co-educational Catholic systemic school located in Lakemba, NSW. The college commenced in 1999, from the amalgamation of two schools, St John’s College and MacKillop Girls.

The college crest is founded in the Year of the Holy Spirit. It depicts the cross of our Saviour, Jesus Christ, with the dove representing the Holy Spirit. The depiction of the Holy Spirit emerging from the cross embodies the message of Pentecost where “the Holy Spirit came down on all” (Acts 10:44)  to spread the good news to all.

The Holy Spirit empowers and inspires the lives of all in the college community.
