By connecting to the real world of students’ lives, authentic learning enables students to become lifelong learners who contribute to society and the wider world as active and discerning citizens. Authentic learning is central to our work as Catholic educators because it promotes the continual growth and wellbeing of the whole person — spiritually, intellectually, emotionally, socially and physically.

Learning Approach

As a Catholic school, Holy Spirit Catholic College Lakemba offers programs that educate students in a holistic manner. Opportunities for the spiritual, intellectual and social development  are made available for every student. Placing significant emphasis on strengthening students’ literacy and numeracy skills, we focus on individual student’s aptitude and ability in Stage 5 and 6 to ensure a successful transition to tertiary education and training.

Our approach to teaching and learning acknowledges the needs of those students in the community who have English as an additional language which is plentiful at a school as ethnically diverse as ours.
