Central to the religious life of the school is the person of Jesus Christ who came among us ‘as one who serves’ (Luke 22.27). Our Catholic school is committed to reaching out to help those in need, through charitable outreach initiatives. All outreach activities connect to the person of Jesus Christ and to the sacraments, especially the Eucharist. Drawing on the Catholic Social Teaching of the Church, we have a deep commitment to supporting a range of charitable organisations, families and individuals in need.

At Holy Spirit Catholic College Lakemba, St Mary of the Cross Mackillop’s motto ‘never see a need without doing something about it’ informs our everyday lives. Our students are constantly motivated to take a community approach when taking on initiatives promoting respect and responsibility.

Students have the opportunity to put their teachings into practice through outreach initiatives such as:

  • Caritas Project Compassion fundraising
  • St Vincent de Paul
  • Toy Drive for Catholic Care
  • Catholic Education Fund
  • Charitable Works fund
  • LaSallian Foundation
  • Josephite Sisters

Outreach is central to the charism of our College.  As such, Outreach days sff, for Year 12 and 10 are dedicated to serving the needs of the wider community.
