Our Catholic school is part of the Catholic Church. We work in partnership with our local parish and priests in order to enrich the spiritual life of the students, staff and families of our school, especially through the celebration of the Sacraments.
Catholic life and culture is overt and explicit at Holy Spirit Catholic College Lakemba. It is enhanced by the close relationship the college has with the six feeder parishes of Belfield, Belmore, Campsie, Greenacre, Lakemba and Punchbowl. We are also blessed to have a long-standing connection with the De La Salle Brothers and Josephite Sisters who provide generous support for staff in professional development, student leadership, and weekly commitment and support from a religious sister at the school. Staff and students alike are nurtured by the spirituality of these two religious orders.
The college also has a committed and extensive relationship to our local parish, St Therese’s Lakemba. The opportunity to nurture spiritual faith alongside our local parish enables our staff and students to consider the ways their spiritual life and faith formation pertain to the community around them.
As a community, we take seriously the catechetical role we have in helping the students to better understand the Catholic faith. Our place in the Catholic Church and our local parishes nurtures this.
