Our Catholic Faith and the Strength of Two Inspirational Women
During the week we celebrated the feast day of our first Australian Saint, Mary MacKillop. Mary, along with Parish Priest Julian Tenison Woods, established theย rder of the Sisters of St Joseph of the Sacred Heart as well as establishing the first Catholic school in Penola, South Australia for children of the area. Maryโs faith, strength and astuteness allowed her to educate children without government funding while providing additional support for the poor and disadvantaged.
