FROM THE ACTING PRINCIPAL Mr Stephen Doran
Dear Parents, Staff and Students
Welcome back to Term 2. I hope you managed to enjoy a break from routine over the recent holidays which included Easter and ANZAC Day. As Catholics, Easter Sunday is the most significant day in the calendar. Holy Week culminates with the resurrection of Jesus on Easter Sunday. Easter is a symbolic reminder that Jesus has overcome death and sin. It signifies the victory of good over evil. Sadly, we lost the leader of the Catholic Church, Pope Francis, on the Monday after Easter. Pope Francis embodied Christ’s command to care for all people, especially the most vulnerable. As ArchBishop Anthony Fisher stated, “He will be remembered as
the ‘pope of the peripheries’, determined to lead the Church in reaching out to those on the margins – the poor, elderly, disabled, refugees and prisoners.”
