ANZAC DAY

The College commemorated and celebrated Anzac Day and I thought that I
would share some of my reflections that I shared with the student community.

523 is a significant number this year. This is the number of Australians, according to the War Memorialโ€™s honour list that were killed whilst serving in the Vietnam war that occurred between 3 August 1962 to 29 April 1975. I wonder what the number would be that were affected as a result of their deaths back here in Australia – mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, auntโ€™s and uncleโ€™s that had to and continue to live their lives without those soldiers killed in Vietnam. But why do I mention Vietnam, why not speak of the World Wars where many more Australians lost their lives because after all this is where the Anzac legend and legacy was born.
