Holy Spirit Celebrations

After our beautiful Eucharistic celebration last Thursday which marked the start of our Holy Spirit Day celebrations, I spoke briefly to our College community about the working of the Spirit saying: โ€œHoly Spirit College celebrates 25 years this year. Luna Park celebrates 85 years this year but we hear in the Gospel that Jesus, after his resurrection, breathes on his disciples and asks them to receive the Holy Spirit. That was 2000 years ago. The point being, we as Catholics, have been inspired by, blessed with, and protected by the Spirit all our lives and each year as we move into the Feast of Pentecost, we continue to celebrate the power of the Holy Spirit, and so our very name as a school reminds us that we, as Catholics, are baptised with water and the spirit and therefore we are called to be people of God.
