FROM THE PRINCIPAL Mr Kevin Griffiths
COLLEGE ASSEMBLY

An elderly Cherokee Indian chief was sitting around a campfire with his young grandson and casually said to him, “There are two wolves within each one of us, one
of them is good and the other is bad.” The good wolf contains qualities of selflessness, gentleness, compassion, tolerance, kindness, resilience and respect towards people. The bad wolf contains qualities of selfishness, intolerance, disrespect and self centredness towards people. The grandson thought for a few moments and tried to listen carefully to what his grandfather was trying to say and what message he may be attempting to share and he then asked a question, “ Who is going to win the fight between these wolves? The wise grandfather looked at his grandson and said, “the wolf we choose to feed – it is that simple!”

Holy Spirit, each one of us have these two wolves that live within us and unfortunately from time to time, for whatever reason, the bad wolf raises its ugly head and we engage in behaviour that is less than attractive, however I want to demonstrate where I have seen the good wolf in many members of our community in the last several weeks.
